Social Days:
The season begins in early May and games are played each Tuesday in the Members' Lounge.
Games start at 10 am and finish at approximately
2.30 pm with a break for lunch. BYO lunch or buy at the Club. A cost of $2.00 covers your game and a cup of tea or coffee.
Club Championships:
Club championships are played during the season with ladies and men’s singles, also mixed pairs.
Indoor Pennant:
It was a successful year for the Indoor Bowls section with every social Tuesday being well attended and three of the four Pennant teams playing in the finals. Our Club Championships this year also had some big games in the Singles competitions.
The Ladies singles was won for the tenth time by Joy Smith defeating the title holder Wendy Hamel on the last end. The men’s winner was Ralph Blair who defeated the title holder in the semi final then defeated Colin Hamel in the Final by 1 shot on the last end and our congratulations go to both winners.
The four pennant teams did very well. Division 1 side the only team out of the top four. Division 4 side finished 3rd, then went down in the first semi final by 4 shots to Bentleigh Club. We had two teams in Division 2, with 2nd side being Division 2 winners, and side 3 finished 3rd with those teams being on equal points but went down in the first semi final to Keysborough by 4 shots. Side 2 won their semi by 3 shots beating Noble Park, then played Keysborough in the final winning by 8 shots.
Congratulations to the Division 2 team of Colin Hamel (s) Keith Thompson, Rocco Lamattina and Joy Smith, on winning another Pennant and section flag for Mulgrave.
With all the improvements being done to the floor in the Members area where our Bowls mats are placed we are hoping for bigger and better things next year.
